Dario Pegoretti is a true artist.
He is a gifted craftsman, and a slightly eccentric painter. Dario builds mainly in steel out of custom made Columbus tubing. The wall thicknesses, tubing diameters and butting specifications are all custom designed to make his bikes ride perfectly.
The paint on a Pegoretti has more in common with Jackson Pollack than with Schwinn. Peruse the paint gallery on Pegoretti’s website or stop in Classic Cycle to get a taste of this artistic genius. If you ride a Pegoretti, you can be certain your bike is one of a kind.
We generally stock a couple of samples of Dario’s work, but you will probably want to order your favorite model or paint style. Generally, folks will select a “theme” when they order a frame. Maybe choose the “Ciavete” style and ask for a couple of general colors. Our friend Tim Lu requested that his name be incorporated into the paint, and he got it, in English and in Chinese characters! If you don’t like surprises we can get you photos of stock frames that the importer has on hand, and you can select from those. Just know that whatever paint you pick, the bike underneath it all will ride like a dream.
Lead time is typically 3 days to 2 years (I know, that’s quite a range, but what are you gonna do? He’s an artist).
