Check out this versatile road bike model from Felt.
It’s pretty light, really comfortable and plenty fast.
We’re actually using the Z6 in our road bike rental fleet.
Felt considers these bikes to be race bikes with a little extra comfort and stopping power thrown in. We couldn’t agree more.
TRP Spyre cable-actuated disc brakes stop the Z6 on a dime. While disc brakes may seem unnecessary on a modern road bike, they do have some advantages:
By moving the brakes away from the top of the wheels, you get added clearance for wider road tires and fenders. By moving the brake pads away from the rims, you get wheels that last a lot longer in Pacific Northwest rain and grit. Since the brakes stop the bike by squeezing rotors at the center of the wheel instead of at the rim, the braking surface is up out of puddle range and is generally nice and dry.
The rest of the components work well and don’t add a ton of weight. You get a Shimano Tiagra drivetrain, Vittoria Rubino tires, a carbon seat post, comfortable saddle, variable-radius handlebar and multi-position handlebar stem. The heart of the Z6 is a sporty carbon frame that is both stiff and light, so you’re looking at a fast and efficient machine, not just a touring bike on steroids…
