Bianchi Infinito

Bianchi Infinito w/Ultegra Di2

Looking for a road bike that would be enjoyable to pedal for hours on end? Bianchi thinks you’ll be happy with this model for Infinitely long rides.

The Infinito shares most of the aerodynamic designs found on the Oltro and Superissimo models. It also shares similar frame stiffness down near the cranks and the low weight numbers on the scale. With a quarter inch added in wheelbase length and a couple of tweaks to the overall stiffness and handling, you get racing bike performance combined with casual bike comfort.

The Infinito comes outfitted with Shimano 105 mechanical parts or Shimano Ultegra electronic. Aerodynamic and tough Velomann carbon wheels. 30mm Vittoria tires, hidden cables, Bianchi’s celeste paint. What more could you want?

If you’ve ridden the STP or the RAGBRAI (Ride across Iowa) and checked out what everyone else is riding, you’ve probably noticed that bikes like this Bianchi, along with the Specialized Roubaix and Trek Domane no longer dominate the supported bike tour catagory. These days everyone seems to be picking out a “gravel” bike for long hours in the saddle. A word or two of warning: The riders you see aboard gravel bikes have made some serious compromises. Don’t make these mistakes yourself. 45mm wide tires may be comfy, but they’re slow and inefficient. You need more than 10 gear combinations; front derailleurs and double cranksets are good ideas. Wide, upright handlebars make sense in the woods but they turn your upper body into a wind-break on the open road. When you are the motor, efficiency matters.
