Bianchi Venezia & Milano

Bianchi Venezia

Bianchi Venezia

If you’ve perused our museum section, you may have admired a lot of our vintage bikes and wondered why they don’t make bikes “like that” anymore.

They do. For one, Bianchi makes a steel city bike model called the Venezia. Consider this bike as you would a Dutch bike.  It’s heavy, but it’s also very tough and stable, perfect for runs (actually leisurely rides) to the grocery store or other nearby errands.  The twist shifter operates the gear mechanism within the rear hub, a sturdy and weather-resistant shifting alternative to traditional derailleurs.

Bianchi Milano

Bianchi Milano

There’s also the Milano, a more performance-oriented hybrid bike that gives you the beautiful elements of an older bike but in a lighter and more efficient package. With the Milano you get a light aluminum frame, powerful (but still traditional looking) V brakes, wide-range gears with a derailleur shift system and light-weight modern (not steel) fenders.

Leave it to Bianchi, the oldest bike company in existence, to offer a stylish alternative to Giant/Trek/Specialized’s boring city bikes.

They couldn’t come in anything other than Bianchi’s signature celeste color.
