Timing is everything
One of the things we pride ourselves on is our quick turnaround time for repairs. Many minor repairs can be done while you wait, and lots of others can be ready for you within 24-48 hours. Even if your bike repair requires ordering parts, we can usually get stuff for you within a few days.
Don’t live on the island? Call ahead and make an appointment. We will work on your bike while you wander around Bainbridge, go to Seattle for the afternoon, or hang out in the store.
We’ll work on nearly every bicycle brand out there, but we have a couple of exceptions:
Bikes with home-made motor conversions are not for us. We’re sure you did a fine job with the install, but your system may have quirks and safety constraints that we’re not ready to take responsibility for…
Some electric bikes have wheel sizes, general heft and custom parts that aren’t found elsewhere in the bicycle world (Radpower has a number of bikes like this), so if we can’t source universal replacement parts from our suppliers, physically lift the bike or simply fit the wheels into a bicycle wheel truing stand, we won’t be working on it.

Tune-up packages
The following package prices are for traditional bikes. Larger and more complex tandems, cargo bikes, recumbents and Ebikes typically add $20 to the prices listed. Suspension work, hydraulic brake bleeds, internally-routed shift wires, internal brake hoses or dropper-post control lines can also sometimes add $20-$80 to relevant tune-up package prices. When we check in your repair we’ll advise you of any additional surcharge.
Adult bike minor tune-up & safety check $65
Check and adjust the brake tension and alignment. Align the derailleur hanger and adjust the shifting system. Make sure everything that should be tight, is tight. Inflate the tires. Remove cobwebs (if it’s been idle a long time), inspect rusty spots, wipe down the frame and lube the chain. We’ll make sure that a crashed, recently assembled or neglected bike is safe to ride.
We’ll advise you if the safety check turns up any issues or the bike requires additional parts.
Kids’ bike tune-up $60
Annual tune-up for a child’s bike. Adjust bike fittings for growth. Check and adjust the brakes, hubs, headset, bottom bracket, shifting system (if any). We’ll make sure that the force required to operate the shifter or brake levers is light enough for little hands. Make sure everything that should be tight, is tight. Wipe down frame and lube chain.
Typical replacement parts, if any are needed, run $10-$25.
Annual tune-up, no parts needed $85 (Ebikes and tandems $100)
Annual maintenance for your bike. This is the safety check with adjustments that should greatly improve performance. We inspect and adjust the alignment and stopping power of your brakes. We align your derailleur hanger and adjust the shifting system. In addition we adjust both hubs, the bottom bracket and the headset. We true the wheels. We make sure everything that should be tight, is tight. Inflate the tires. Wipe down the bike, lightly clean the cassette and chain, and lube as needed.
Even though this is the “no parts” tune-up, there is no additional installation charge for purchased accessories (like racks, phone holders, kickstands or fenders).
Annual tune-up with minor part replacement $100 (Ebikes and tandems $120)
This is the most common annual maintenance for your bike. We inspect and adjust the brakes and shifting system. We adjust the bearings in both hubs, the bottom bracket and the headset. We true the wheels. We make sure everything that should be tight, is tight. Inflate the tires. Wipe down the bike, lightly clean the cassette and chain and lube as needed.
With this annual tune-up we include the labor cost for installing a couple of minor parts (like brake pads or a shift cable, or a tube & tire).
The installation charge for purchase accessories (like racks, kickstands or fenders) is included.
Typical replacement parts, like brake pads and cables, run $30-$75.
Performance tune $150 (Ebikes & tandems $140)
This is the Annual tune-up plus some more labor-intensive replacement parts. We check alignment and adjust the brakes. Adjust the hubs, headset, bottom bracket, replacing bearings if necessary. We align or replace the derailleur hanger, replace shift cables if needed and adjust the shifting system. We make sure everything that should be tight, is tight. True the wheels. Inflate the tires. Wipe down bike and lube chain (although we’re probably replacing the chain & cassette with this tune-up).
Tires and tubes, brake pads and cable installation included. Purchased accessory installation included.
Bikes with suspension (that needs work), dropper posts, internal wiring or hoses that need to be replaced may cost more.
Typical replacement parts for this tune-up run $100-$250.
