Calfee Custom Bicycle Fitting Size Cycle
It doesn’t matter how hard you pedal this bike it’s just not very fast.
This is a Calfee-Mikkelsen custom bicycle fitting machine, and we thought that you might like to see the slowest bike that Calfee has ever made.
It is designed to be used by bike shops to find the perfect dimensions for a customer’s custom bike before it is ordered. It can also be used to mimic the dimensions of a stock bicycle that is not built or in the store to verify that the size is right.
Everything is adjustable on this bike so that you can find the exact measurements that you need.
The crank arms are adjustable in length and have a bubble-level in each arm so you can see when the cranks are horizontal. The seat tube height and angle adjustments are made with quick-release levers. The head tube length and angle is adjustable as well. By turning the crank on the front of the machine you can change the top tube length, and the bolted-on tape measure will tell you the exact length at a glance.
The Specialized adjustable stem changes length and angle in a matter of seconds and works with all handlebar diameters. The seat post features a clamp that will allow saddle changes without tools (spin the saddle counter-clockwise and the clamp lets go) in mere seconds.
Lastly, the Cycle-ops fluid resistance unit on top of the wheel gives the rider a nice road feel to pedal against while the bicycle fit is being observed.
Pretty nice, but it’s still a bit heavy for climbing hills…
