The Chilly Hilly Ride is on February 22nd this spring.
This is a classic Pacific Northwest ride that has been going on for over 50 years. If you’re going to live in Seattle, you simply have to have your own Chilly Hilly anecdote to tell.

Bicycling Magazine named the Chilly Hilly “One of Four Classic Rides” in the nation!

The ride is guaranteed to be hilly. It’s likely to be chilly, possibly rainy, rarely sunny, but absolutely challenging and fun.
The course will be marshalled from 8 a.m to about 3 p.m. The ride starts in front of the former Classic Cycle spot on Winslow Way.

Viking Tour Poulsbo June 13th

Riding south out of Poulsbo

The Viking Tour is a fun ride put on by the Poulsbo Rotary club. This year it will take place on Saturday, June 13th.

The tour starts and finishes in historic Poulsbo, “Little Norway” at 9 a.m., and no longer conflicts with the iconic VikingFest carnival and festival, so traffic isn’t such a problem. If you’re an out of towner, Poulsbo is awesome and you might want to plan on coming out Saturday and stay the night to experience Poulsbo hospitality and avoid a brutally early ferry ride!

The ride has three different lengths for all riding levels: the “Odin”: a 57-mile journey featuring over 4,000ft of climbs. the “Thor”: a 29-mile ride which is fairly flat and just for those looking to have a bit of fun with a little less challenge and the “Freyja”: a 17-mile relaxing ride where you can enjoy yourself without breaking too much of a sweat

The Viking Tour is meant to be whatever you make of it. Do it for fun, do it to challenge your personal best or do it to win! Whatever your intent, you’ll be glad you came! Bike racers, tourists, recreational riders, commuters, first-timers and serious cyclists will all have a good time with this one.

West Side Mountain Bike Race Series January – April

A nine event series that will show you some of the best places to ride your mountain bike in the state. Points awarded to each finisher. Best 5 out of 9 results count for overall. Middle School, High School and adult age divisions plus self-seeding categories: Beginner, Sport, Expert/Open, Singlespeed, Clydesdale and Fat Tire.

24 Hours of Riverside Spokane Mountain Bike Challenge May 25th & 26th

24 hours of Spokane, Memorial day weekend

The Riverside park 24 hour event is a team relay mountain bike race, beginning at noon on Saturday and ending at noon on Sunday, presented at Riverside State Park in Spokane. Teams compete for medals, prizes and bragging rights.

Plan your Memorial Day weekend now and make the first long weekend of the summer seriously memorable. Have a weekend of camping, mountain biking, laughing, and sweating that you’ll never forget. Go it alone or get a team together with your friends, and have nothin’ but fun for two solid days. Start off at noon on Saturday and you’ll be riding awesome trails for 24 hours, straight on through til noon again on Sunday.

Tour de Blast June 21st 2025

Tour de Blast

The Tour de Blast is a fully supported ride up the flanks of Mt. St. Helens. Ride Mt. St. Helens blast zone where you’ll experience some of the most spectacular scenery that you can find anywhere. Ride up and back down the scenic highways that surround Mt. St. Helens. There are three different ride distances between 39 and 66 miles. Start and finish at Toutle Lake High School. The entry fee includes T-shirt, food, drink, support, and pasta feed.

Spectacular views. Challenging climbs for the experts or shorter routes for intermediates and beginners. Normally held in September, now moved to June. More information available at:

S.T.P. Seattle to Portland July 12th and 13th 2025

Early STP start

This 200-mile bicycle ride is the largest multi-day bicycle event in the Northwest, with up to 10,000 participants riding from Seattle to Portland in one or two days. The route takes you through the scenic valleys, forests, and farmlands of western Washington and Oregon. Come ride what Bicycling Magazine has listed as one of the best cycling events in the nation!

RAGBRAI (Ride Across Iowa) July 19th – July 26th

RAGBRAI is like the S.T.P. But longer and in a different state

RAGBRAI, The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state. The RAGBRAI has been around for decades. RAGBRAI is the oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world. Which means that it’s well-run, the route is pretty cool, and people like doing it.

In the world of big bicycle tours, RAGBRAI is in a league of its own.

Ride Around Mount Rainier in One Day is the Pacific Northwest’s premiere one-day ultra-marathon cycling event. It combines the incomparable scenery of Mount Rainier National Park with a challenging course featuring 10,000 feet of climbing over 152 miles. The course begins in Enumclaw, WA and takes riders through the rolling hills near Eatonville, Elbe and Ashford before entering the Mount Rainier National Park. You’ll be challenged by three climbs: a 12 mile ascent to Inspiration Point (4,850 ft), the 3 mile Backbone Ridge climb and the challenging 9-mile Cayuse Pass ascent (4,694 ft).

A new administrator who controls access to the national park roads has been pushing the Ramrod organizers a bit these last couple of years, but it sounds like there will be a ride this year.

Tour de Lavender Sequim August 2nd 2025

Anyone who has ridden the Olympic Discovery Trail through Sequim knows that they have some fun roads, great scenery, and challenging hills. On August 2nd the local cycling club is putting on a tour of some great roads, farms and lavender fields. You can try the 62 mile metric century Challenge or the 35 mile family Challenge.

Whistler Gran Fondo September 6th 2025

On September 6th the Whistler Gran Fondo will take riders up the Sea to Sky highway from Vancouver to Whistler, B.C. The scenery is fantastic, and the ride support is really the best you can get. Although the fixed start and end points suggest only one ride length, you can choose a 75 or 100 mile route.
The Whistler Gran Fondo should be one of the best events of the year.

Passport to Pain ride on Vashon Island September 13th 2025

80 miles, 10,000 feet of elevation change.

Anyone who’s cycled Vashon knows that the Island is a series of brutal hills connected by short sections of… well…. less brutal hills. Face it, a cross section of any Vashon ride looks like your heart beat on Alpe d’Huez. So, what if you strung all these hills together into one long epic circuit of the Island? Crazy? Maybe – but a fun twisted crazy? Does this sound like you?

This annual ride for V.I. rowing club members and friends will start from (and finish at) Jensen Point on Saturday September 13th between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM. Riders will be started in small groups over that hour, for safety on the road. No one should start after 9:30 AM.

Eroica Historic Bicycle Rides 2025

Eroica is a celebration of bicycles and bicycle racers from a bygone era. There may not be a Eroica retro ride in California this year, but we’re not sure. The link below will bring you to the Eroica website, and from there you can plan a fantastic destination vacation.

This is an excuse to dust off your old bike (must be from 1986 or older), get out your old togs (or a new outfit that looks old) and ride like it’s 1955. Why? Why not? There are vintage auto rally’s all the time. It’s just an excuse to ride a little slower and enjoy yourself a little more on some of the finest roads for cycling in the world.

Classic Cycle has scholarships for these rides. If you want to do one of them (in one of our wool jerseys), we can outfit you with a proper vintage bike or help you with elements of your bike or attire that aren’t quite right.

Kitsap Fall Color Classic October 5th

On Sunday, October 5th we have the Kitsap Color Classic. Pedal from Kingston through beautiful Kitsap County. There are three loops to choose from, or you can ride the whole thing. Ride your bike up to Hansville, down through Poulsbo, and back through Indianola to Kingston. Friendly communities and terrific fall scenery make this a fun, must-do event.

MFG Cyclocross Series September – November 2025

MFG produces an outstanding series of cyclocross races locally, and while they are all about the participant, the races are also fun for spectators. The venues are closer to Bainbridge than almost any bike racing series, so you can probably skip the earliest ferry on Saturday and Sunday mornings. This is the series that some of us race (well, participate in), and Classic Cycle has provided some of the prizes.

The Tour de Tucson November 22nd 2025

They have hills there too.

Need some sunshine and a dry place to ride? Plan on riding the Tour de Tucson in (where else?) Arizona.

O.K., The 2013 edition was wet and cold, but what are the chances of that happening again in our lifetimes?

Held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, El Tour is a fun ride attracting over 9,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities from throughout the United States and beyond, consisting of novice, intermediate, advanced, and professional riders. Southwest Airlines’ in-flight magazine, Spirit named El Tour de Tucson “one of the premier organized rides in United States,” and Bicycling Magazine ranked El Tour as “one of the top three fundraising rides” in the country.

Tour de Dung (Sequim Road Race) March 9th

The Tour de Dung (Sequim Road Race)

A great single-day race in Sequim, a sunny town in the rain shadow of the beautiful Olympic Mountain Range. Start is across the road from the Dungeness State Park and Recreation Area. Day-of event registration only.

The course is very flat and fast. A 12 mile lap course on chip-seal surfaced with three rolling rises, and wind historicaly has been a factor usually out of the west between 10 to 20 mph. Course is the same as in years past. Finish will be on Kitchen Dick Road.

Not many events on this side of the Sound, so take this opportunity to race close to home. More info at:

Seward Park weekly race series April – August 2024

Starting in mid-April and continuing until Labor Day, we have a weekly Thursday night criterium you can race at Seward Park in Seattle.

The Seward Park series is informal, so no USCF license is required, the entry fees are modest, and the races are short, so you can get home in time for dinner.

5 pm – Category 4 Women and Junior race

5:30 pm – First Time training race and Catagory 4 & 5 Men

6 pm – Category 3 & 4 Men race

7 pm – Category 1, 2, & 3 race

Tour de Lopez (Island) April 27th

Tour de Lopez (Island) on April 27th

The annual Tour de Lopez on April 27th is a non-competitive road tour with 5, 10, 18 & 31 mile routes through a scenic landscape on rural island roads. The route is designed to keep cyclists off the main roads so there is lots of interesting variety and little local traffic. Participants are encouraged to make this a weekend getaway as it’s a great opportunity to see what Lopez has to offer.

Parking in Anacortes at the ferry terminal is free to TDL participants from Thursday thru Sunday in the upper parking lot.

Friday Night Track Racing Series May through September

We have track racing at the Jerry Baker (Used to be called Marymoor) Velodrome every Friday night during the summer.

Come to the park to spectate, or give track racing a try yourself.

Racing starts at 7pm on Friday nights, and rain will cancel the events (so, racing in May & June is iffy)

Pre-season classes and training events at the velodrome start in April.

Like being part of a team? Come on in and buy a Classic Cycle jersey. That’s all it takes. There are no annual dues. If you register to race your bike with USA Cycling, put “Classic Cycle” on the line that asks for club affiliation.

Support Classic Cycle, and we’ll support you. If you do a charity ride, complete a century, or race your bike in our jersey, we’ll help you with the equipment. No need to finish first, we just want to see you riding. For every event photo that you bring in (everyone has a camera phone these days), you’ll get a store credit. We also have spare racing equipment and a ton of experience if you need some guidance. All we ask is that you be a good ambassador for us and for the sport. If we find out you run red lights, cause crashes, yell at officials, or generally create ill will, we’ll ask that you pick a different sport.

By the way, our “casual club” philosophy has turned out two professional riders in the recent past. Kiel Reijnen, who raced on the Trek/Segafredo world tour road team, and four-time national champion Zach McDonald, who rode for the Rapha-Focus cyclocross team.
