Bianchi P.U.S.S. single speed mountain bike

A Bianchi PUSS (Pink Ugly Single Speed)

A Bianchi PUSS (Pink Ugly Single Speed)

This is a Bianchi mountain bike from 2007. Maybe you didn’t know that Bianchi, historically known for road racing bikes, even made bikes for the dirt?
If that’s the case then it’s pretty safe to assume you were unaware that they once made pink single-speed mountain bikes.
P.U.S.S. stood for Pink Ultimate (or Ugly) Single Speed.  These frames were extremely light, and custom bikes like this one tipped the scales well under 20 pounds (this one is 17.5 lbs). Take a look at the eclectic parts mix and you’ll note some very high end components and some questionable aesthetics. We’ve ridden this one on trails and it is an extremely light and fun mountain bike.

FSA carbon cranks, titanium b.b.

Paul hubs with ceramic bearings

For parts we have purple Paul Components single-speed disc hubs (you can’t tell from the pictures, but these have ceramic bearings!), There’s carbon fiber FSA road bike crankset with one chainring. There’s a carbon fiber Bontrager seatpost with a matching stem and handlebars. There’s a Chris King headset, Time atac pedals and it has Avid “Ultimate” hydraulic brakes.  In case you missed it, there’s a chainstay guard that came stock on the frame proclaiming “Your bike sucks”.

Carbon post and that helpful Salsa guy

There’s also a Selle San Marco Concor saddle on the bike. This one was produced by the fine folks at Salsa, and they have the little Salsa logo guy embroidered on it. He’s telling you (in Italian) to do something dirty. It’s just a continuation of the questionable taste embodied by this Bianchi PUSS.
